Robert Picault (1919-2000)
Robert Picault revitalized culinary ceramics by blending traditional local forms with geometric designs, gaining renown for his distinct style. Former student of Paris's School of Applied Arts, he joined Vallauris in 1946, co-founding Atelier Callis with Roger Capron and Jean Derval. At Madoura, he befriended Picasso and immersed himself in a vibrant artistic circle. Picault's independent studio thrived, producing both personal pieces and utilitarian ceramics, characterized by simple geometric motifs. His legacy lives on through sought-after artworks and enduring culinary designs.
