Jacques Blin (1920-1995)

Jacques Blin, born in Pierrefonds, France, in 1920, initially pursued a career in aeronautics but shifted to ceramics in 1949. His unique style, influenced by encounters with artists like Jean Rustin, gained recognition through national and international exhibitions, earning prestigious awards. Over four decades, Blin's work evolved, maintaining a signature aesthetic while adapting to societal changes. Beyond his artistic contributions, he tirelessly advocated for his profession, serving as President of the Chamber of Ceramists and Art Workshops of France. His dedication was acknowledged with honors such as the Order of National Merit and the Legion of Honor, reflecting his enduring impact on the ceramics community.
