Bruno Gambone (1936-2021)

Born in Vietri, Italy, in 1936, Bruno Gambone is the son of renowned ceramist Guido Gambone. Influenced by his father's workshop and encounters with Italian avant-garde artists like Gio Ponti, Bruno began practicing ceramics and painting. His artistic journey led him to New York in 1962, where he immersed himself in the Pop Art movement and befriended influential artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Returning to Milan in 1968, Gambone revitalized the family workshop with a modern aesthetic, transitioning from his father's traditional style to a more minimalist approach. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he gained international acclaim for his stylized animal sculptures and later ventured into glasswork and jewelry design.
