Barbara Delfosse (1939-2009)
Barbara Delfosse, a key figure in the revival of La Borne ceramics, was born in 1939 in Saint-Gobain, France. After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts de Beaune, she moved to La Borne in 1962, where she collaborated with Pierre Digan, her husband, to create award-winning ceramics. From 1973, she worked independently, crafting guilloché clay pieces exhibited in renowned French galleries and internationally. Delfosse also promoted pottery in her region, trained young talents, and shifted to teaching after a fire destroyed her kiln in the late 1980s. In 2019, the Vassil Ivanoff Museum honored her with a retrospective exhibition.
