André Aleth Masson (1919-2009)

André-Aleth Masson (1919-2009), born in Saint-Malo, studied at the Beaux-Arts in Rennes in 1938 and later at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. After the war, he learned ceramics at the Fontcarrade school. He began exhibiting his work in 1950 and gained recognition with a solo exhibition at the MAI gallery in 1952. Masson's ceramics evolved from utilitarian pieces to sculptural and voluminous forms, characterized by explosive colors. He joined the "Mur Vivant" movement in 1968, focusing on architectural research, and collaborated with André Borderie on various architectural panels for notable buildings such as the Grenoble Faculty of Medicine and the ORTF house.
